Sunrise at Lake Nakuru

November 12 – Lake Nakuru and back to Nairobi

This morning we awoke early to be out on a game drive for the sunrise. The valleys of the national park will full of fog, which was gorgeous, especially as the rising sun hit it lighting it up with orange. Not long into our game drive our guide advised us that another group had spotted a lion family. The roads in the park are not well maintained with many large potholes and gulleys where the water runs off during rainy seasons. Our driver sped off, going much faster than he likely should have, to try and see the lions. We got there in a few minutes and there were two lionesses, two lions, and a cub who was about two and a half months old.

We continued on our game drive and headed back to Makalia Falls where we had a picnic breakfast.

After the game drive, we went back to camp, loaded up the bus and headed back to Nairobi.

Tomorrow we head to Giraffe Manor!

Thanks for wandering with me,

Julie
