The Experience

More than just a photography session. I focus on creating artwork of your pet(s) to treasure for years to come, while creating a fun experience for both you and your pet.

The Process

1. Pre-session consultation

We’ll schedule a call in which we’ll discuss the details including what to bring, what you may want to do with your images, and you can ask any questions you have!

2. The session

This is where the magic happens! Leave all worries and expectations at the door and just enjoy the experience. Your dog’s only job is to be a dog and have fun! You will be able to view artwork options in person at the session.

3. The ordering appointment

Held in person or over a video call, this is where the much-anticipated image reveal happens! You choose your favourites, and I’ll walk you through the options as we decide how you’ll most enjoy your images.

4. Elation!

Your products are in, and you can’t stop smiling as you enjoy your gorgeous new artwork!

FAQ

Can I be in the photos with my pet?
Of course! I love documenting the connection between you and your dog. While we can certainly capture a traditional portrait of you both smiling at the camera, many clients especially love the candid images of the moments you share. If you’re especially camera shy, I can still create some lovely, creative images that tell the story of your relationship. Please just trust me, and remember that you don’t need to purchase or display any images that you don’t adore.

When are sessions scheduled?
The most magical light for photography happens during the “golden hour” which occurs approximately two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset. I generally schedule outdoor sessions to being two hours before sunset, as most people are not keen on a morning session!

Where do sessions take place?
Sessions can occur on-location such as a local park or your house if your pet has limited mobility, or in-studio. We will discuss location during our session-planning call. The location we select will be guided by a number of factors including the type of images you’re looking for, any special needs you and your dog might have (mobility challenges, reactivity, etc.) and time of year (such as avoiding areas with water when the ice is melting). With all that in mind, we’ll select the perfect location for your custom session. If you have a location that you love and your dog is comfortable, feel free to let me know!

My dog can’t be off leash. Can I still do a session?
Absolutely! Believe it or not, the vast majority of the dogs that I photograph are on leash. Leashes not only keep your best budd safe, but they’re also important for following local laws when photographing in urban environments. Thanks to the wizardry of Photoshop, leashes will be removed from most final images.
