Into the wild

November 14 – breakfast with the giraffes, bush plane to Masai Mara, and an evening game drive

We started our day bright (well dark, actually) and early with giraffes at our patio door waiting for breakfast.

We headed to the breakfast room where we had a delicious breakfast. The giraffes hung around the manor and a baby even got the zoomies! I was too slow getting out my phone to take a video.

After breakfast we left for the airport where we got on a small bush plane for a 45 minute flight out to the Masai Mara.

On our way to camp, we stopped to see a herd of elephants, including two babies!

We are staying at Tembo by Jackson which is a bush camp where we stay in tents (definitely glamping, not camping!).

On our evening game drive our group split up into two vehicles. Both groups saw animals including zebras, grants gazelle, Thomsons gazelle, impala, hippos, elephants, baboons, and spotted hyenas.

The group I was in also found a cheetah! Our guide spotted him when he sat up over the grass. If he had stayed laying down, we absolutely would have missed him.

The other vehicle saw two lionesses hunting and one caught a young warthog that they took back to four cubs. They also saw a crocodile in the river!

Thanks for wandering with me,

Julie
